Calm hangs over the gutted buildings, nothing moves, not even the ash surrounding the charred corpses of the cities former occupants. Some of them still sit in there cars or lie against walls. Others are buried beneath the rubble of there homes, suffocated by tones of charred rubble.

PilgrimThe forest, a gate way to another world. The trees turned the blazing yellow light of the sun to a gentle green; they also turned away the heat so that under their shade the air was cool and soft. At the base of the trees small ferns and plants grew. Like a green sea, they submerged the bowels of their greater cousins.Pilgrim
Birds flitted through the tree tops, trilling softly, as not to disturb the ancient slumber of the trees, small silver birds that dance and shimmered, defying the eye to describe them. All manner of creatures called this forest home and they knew that they need fear nothing, for this forest was watched over.
